Nightfall had swallowed any remnants of light from the previous day, blanketing the entirety of the woodland like a thick cloak, and embracing all inhabitants within. There was an unusual serenity. The creatures of the forest, even the nocturnal groups, had chosen to stay within the comforts of their nature-provisioned homes, too lethargic for their typical night-time adventures. Nearby a shallow, trickling stream was set up a rather barren campsite, entailing only the essentials of a solitary tent and fire.
